About Kathryn - Nashville Therapist

Kathryn (she/her) completed her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lipscomb University with specialties in addiction treatment and play therapy and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Entrepreneurship from the University of North Carolina.

Kathryn is passionate about creating a safe and collaborative counseling environment where individuals can feel seen, heard, and empowered. She primarily approaches counseling through the lens of Internal Family Systems (IFS), helping clients better understand the parts of themselves with deeply held beliefs, thoughts, or behaviors that keep them from connecting to their true self. She often incorporates experiential interventions like sand tray, meditation, and expressive arts to deepen a person’s understanding of themselves and gain healing from trauma and extreme thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and behaviors.

Kathryn approaches each client with humility and curiosity, creating a non-judgmental environment where individuals feel empowered to continue on their path toward healing and wholeness. She takes into account the unique experiences, identities, and perspectives of each person throughout the counseling process. While Kathryn enjoys working with people from all walks of life, she specializes in men’s issues, childhood trauma, spiritual and religious trauma, substance abuse, relationship issues, and life transitions. She primarily works with adolescents, young adults, and adults. Her previous experience includes working with adolescent males in residential treatment and individuals in outpatient counseling to address trauma, identity, and disconnection from self and others.
