About Elon

Elon (he/him) completed his masters in clinical mental health counseling at the Family Institute at Northwestern University. He holds a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from Pace University, a JD from Cornell Law School, and a bachelors in biology and english from Amherst College in Massachusetts. He is also trained in Schema Therapy, an integrative approach that emphasizes core emotional needs, has completed Brainspotting I training, and is currently working towards a certificate in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy through Brown University. 

Elon has accepted a Fulbright Research Fellowship to do therapy-related research in Israel starting in October 2024. He is currently accepting clients interested in doing short duration or high intensity work in therapy. 

Elon enjoys supporting clients with a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, grief/loss, relationship issues and life transitions. He also enjoys using own professional experience in helping clients with challenges in their career and education. Elon is open to integrating mindfulness, spirituality, and issues of meaning into counseling and has his own long-standing personal meditation practice. 

Elon’s approach emphasizes the importance of insight and self-exploration as a means of making meaningful change. He works with clients to understand how behavior is shaped by personal history and beliefs, and may be a part of what’s in their way and also helps foster self-compassion, greater freedom, and psychological flexibility. Elon has special experience with teens, college students and young adults, spiritual seekers, educators and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Before training as a therapist, Elon worked as a lawyer, specializing in complex litigation and related matters. However, he felt called to pursue a career in therapy, where he could work collaboratively and non-judgmentally with clients to help them achieve their goals and needs.

Elon seeks to foster a that embraces diversity, and welcomes the opportunity to work with clients of all backgrounds and seeks to be inclusive of diversity in race, ethnicity, national origin, religious and spiritual beliefs, gender, sexuality, and ability.

Elon originally hails from Seattle and in his free time he enjoys cooking, gardening, and hiking with his Australian Shepherd, Maggie. Elon and his wife share their home with their Maine Coon cats, Babu and Frik.
